Rajini’s 2.0 beats Rajamouli’s Baahubali records before its release

Rajinikanth's 2.0 is all set to release this Thursday and is already smashing down records of previous blockbusters

Chennai: Rajinikanth’s 2.0, a science fiction drama with Bollywood's A-list actor Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, as the leading lady, is releasing on November 29. Fans are excited for the release of the much-awaited movie of the year. 

And, 2.0 is exceeding expectations by breaking records even before its release. According to reports, the movie is set to release in 6,600 to 6,800 screens across the nation. Previously this record was held by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2, with Telugu actor Prabhas in the lead. Baahubali 2 was released in approximately 6,500 screens.      

Another record the movie is breaking is that it has already earned Rs 120 crore just from advance booking. The estimated expenditure for the production of the movie is Rs 543 crores and it is the most expensive movie to date in the Indian film industry.

Director Shankar is the visual expert and he recently released a two-minute video of a song from the movie, which truly was a visual feast for the fans.

Initially, the movie was supposed to be released during Diwali. However, because of post-production work, it has finally declared the date as November 29, a Thursday. No other movie is releasing this week.

AR Rahman is the music director for the film and it will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D.
