Oscars 2019: Padmaavat, Raazi, October and Manto - Top contenders for India's official entry at the Academy Award

The Academy Awards will soon declare the final contenders for the Best Foreign Language Film category and this time, there are about 28 films that are being considered to be India's official run at the Oscars 2019. 

In 2017, Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao's Newton had failed to make it to the final nominations list. However, this year many Indian movies both Hindi and regional are listed and are considered to be India's official run at the Oscars 2019. 28 films in total are all waiting for the final call.

According to Pinkvilla, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama Padmaavat featuring Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt starrer Raazi, Shoojit Sircar's October with Varun Dhawan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Manto and others are striving to be in the Oscars 2019 nomination race.
