While millions pray for singer Lata Mangeshkar’s speedy recovery, there are reports that fake and unverified news about her death is making the rounds.
Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar was on Monday morning (November 11) rushed to a hospital after she suffered a chest infection.
The singer, who turned 90 in September this year, was taken to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.
While fans have been praying for her speedy recovery, fake news has already started circulating on WhatsApp groups, claiming that she has passed away.

Lata Mangeshkar’s sister Usha, who is also a singer clarified that Lata was responding well to the treatment and would be discharged soon. "Lata didi is stable. The progress is steady and good. We look forward to taking her home as she gets well. Thank you for your prayers and support," an official statement had stated earlier.

As Lata continues to recover, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Friday visited her. After meeting her, Thackeray said: "Lata Mangeshkar is stable. We are expecting her to be discharged in 4-5 days. We can say that she has an old age-related illness and I wish for her speedy recovery and wellness for the future."
Meanwhile, Lata Mangeshkar's team in a statement said, "We are as happy as you are to inform you that with all your prayers and best wishes, Lata didi is doing much better."
