Kerala floods: South Indian actors Mammootty, Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal and others turn good samaritans

Many celebs like Mammootty, Manju Warrier and Jayasurya took the effort to visit houses of those affected by Kerala rains in relief camps and helped the needy
 

Kerala, which is considered as God's own country, has been badly hit by floods, which has devastated the land with many losing their loved ones, homes, pets and belongings. 

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan announced Rs 10 lakh for those who have lost their houses/lands and Rs 4 lakh to the families, who have lost a member in the calamity. He also requested other people to donate funds for relief measures. A tweet on CMO Kerala account read, "Saving their lives was our priority. Now it is our duty to help them rebuild it. Contribute generously to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund. #KeralaFloods #KeralaFloodRelief."

South Indian stars like Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Mohanlal, Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Vishal, Karthi, Vijay, Allu Arjun and others have donated to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).
Kamal Haasan: Rs 25 lakh 
Telugu star Allu Arjun: Rs 25 lakh
Mohanlal: Rs 25 lakh
Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan: Rs 25 lakh
AMMA: Rs 10 lakh
Suriya and Karthi: Rs 25 lakh 
Vijay Deverakonda: Rs 5 lakh
Vishal: Rs 10 lakh
Vijay TV: Rs 25 lakh

A video going viral shows Malayalam actor Indrajith and his wife Poornima with their kids going to an NGO named Anbodu Kochi to distribute some essential items to the needy.

At the 38th executive committee meeting of the Nadigar Sangam on Sunday, the organisation has announced a contribution of Rs 5 lakh to CMDRF.
