Actor Alia Bhatt has come a long way since shedding extra weight for Karan Johar's Student Of The Year and the actor can always be seen going in-out of the gym. Here's how she keeps in shape

Mumbai: Birthday girl Alia Bhatt has had a marvellous run in Bollywood since her debut in Karan Johar's Student of The Year. Especially because according to reports Bhatt weighed 67 kgs when she got her first role in Karan Johar's Student of the Year and since then, has lost 16 kgs.

What's the secret? Well, a full-on dedication to her fitness regimen and diet. Her fitness mantra seems so healthy and tasty that we wouldn't be surprised she sticks to the same for her birthday menu. What say, Alia?

Bhatt's diet plan is available on plenty of websites because her fitness journey is an inspiration to everyone. The Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya star's diet consists of eating three full meals a day and doesn't believe in in the six meal plan. But what does she eat in those three meals? Well, it turns out that she includes fruits, salads and nutrient-rich superfood, oats.

For breakfast, she has idli and sambar or poha. This is followed by lunch which includes roti and veggies. For dinner, she opts for rotis without oil or roasted chicken or even a small bowl of rice with dal and vegetables. It seems as if the star doesn't believe in following the current food trends that include gluten free, dairy free products.

In fact, during a Q and A with Rujuta Diwekar's live Facebook session, Bhatt revealed that local foods, if eaten in moderation, can be healthy. She admitted that she doesn't get the craze behind gluten-free pizza for instance. "Here I am eating white bread and butter at 4 am," she said.

But even if Bhatt eats something healthy, she ensures that she burns it out in the gym. Her Instagram account is filled with videos of her doing pilates at celebrity fitness trainer, Yasmin Karachiwala's studio. Although her workouts look slow, she works her shoulder, core, legs and back a lot.

Sometimes, her pilates workout even gives her a full body workout. It's no wonder then that she's been flaunting her curves and we must say that her bikini body is an inspiration for all of us.
