Tamil star Vijay, recently made a statement that could hint at his political entry in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil superstar Vijay is all set for his next release Sarkar, directed by AR Murugadoss. During the film's audio launch, Vijay made a statement that could hint at his political entry. After Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, will he be the new kid in the block in Tamil Nadu's political corridors?
Sarkar's music launch was held at Sairam Engineering College in Chennai, when Vijay was asked if he would be seen playing the role of a chief minister in the film. But, he said no. the obvious question that followed was whether he will become a chief minister in real life too. Vijay reply was politically-laced.
“If I become the Chief Minister, then I won’t just act like one, but will do my job with sincerity,” he replied.
The actor also said that if he did become the chief minister in the future, he would want to root out corruption in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Vijay also compared Sarkar to his previous blockbuster Mersal. He said, “While Mersal had a bit of politics in it, the politics in Sarkar will be ‘mersal’ (stunning).”
Vijay was also seen giving some serious views on politics at the event. He said, “People will contest the elections to form the government, but we have already formed our sarkar (government) and now we are going to contest the elections.”
Listening to this, his fans and audience applauded with hoots and whistles. Vijay spoke about elections later. He clarified that he was only talking about his film and not real life politics.
The actor ended his speech by saying, “If the leader is just, the government will flourish. But it just takes time.”
Coming back to his movie Sarkar, it is touted to be a political thriller starring Vijay, Keerthy Suresh, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi in lead roles. AR Rahman has composed music for five songs in the film.
