The Income Tax officials have conducted raids at residences of KGF star Yash, Makkhi actor Sudeep and Puneeth Rajkumar for suspected tax evasion.
In what is being called as the biggest IT attack on the Kannada film industry till date, Income Tax officials conducted raids at residences of Rocking Star Yash, Kiccha Sudeep, Shivaraj Kumar, Puneeth Rajkumar and many other big names from Sandalwood on January 3.
According to TV 9 reports, the raids started early in the morning simultaneously at the offices and residences of leading actor and top Sandalwood producers.
The I-T sleuths raided Yash's Kathreguppe residence and Hosakerahalli office, Puneeth Rajkumar's Sadashiva Nagar residence, Shivaraj Kumar's house in Manyata Tech Park, Rockline Venkatesh's Nagapura house, Vijay Kiragandur's Nagarabhavi residence for suspected tax evasion.
As per the reports, Producer CR Manohar and leading producer-distributor Jayanna's house have also been raided too. CR Manohar had funded Sudeep and Shivaraj Kumar's movie The Villain, which was released last year and was one of the mega-budget movies, while Jayanna is funding Shivanna's next Rustum.
Yash movie KGF has a grand success and the movie has collected over Rs 154 Crores worldwide, within two weeks since its release. The huge sum of money involved alone seems to have lured the IT department.
Another celeb Rockline Venkatesh who has been subjected to the IT raid. According to reports, the IT officials are looking into the documents regarding the actor and producer's assets and properties.
