Here's how Lata Mangeshkar reacted to Ranu Mondal; legendary singer offers advice

Lata Mangeshkar has some good advice for viral singing sensation Ranu Mondal, who became popular after singing 'Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai' on a railway platform in West Bengal 
 

Internet singing sensation 59-year-old Ranu Mondal has been grabbing national headlines. Since the day her video went viral, she has been getting movie offers and has been receiving invitations to attend reality shows. Ranu Mondal recently recorded Aadat and Teri Meri Kahaani for Himesh Reshammiya's upcoming film Happy Hardy And Heer.

Ranu Mondal shot to fame when someone recorded her singing 'Ek pyaar ka nagma hai', a Lata Mangeshkar song, at the railway station in West Bengal.

Lata Mangeshkar reacts to Ranu Mondal:
89-year-old Lata Mangeshkar has some good advice for Ranu. While talking to a news agency, the Bharat Ratna awardee said, she is happy if someone is getting work by singing her songs, but she also offered some key advice. "I feel imitation is not a reliable and durable companion for success. By singing my songs or Kishoreda's (Kishore Kumar), or (Mohd) Rafi Saab's, or Mukesh Bhaiyya or Asha's (Bhosle) numbers, aspiring singers can get short-term attention. But it won't last."

Lata Mangeshkar wants Ranu Mondal to be original:
Lata Mangeshkar also added that the upcoming singers should practice and sing the songs sung by her and her associates; however,  they must have a unique style of singing.

Lata Mangeshkar on Asha Bhosle: 
Lata also talked about her sister Asha Bhosle, and said that she didn't copy her, but made her mark in her own style in the film industry,m. "If Asha had not insisted on singing in her own style, she would have remained in my shadow forever. She is the biggest example of how far individuality can take one's talent to."
