The trailer for Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's Gully Boy is finally out and it is worth the wait
Gully Boy, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, is all set to release on February 14. The first trailer of Zoya Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's movie was out on Wednesday and it is too captivating.
In the movie, Ranveer plays a slum-based aspiring rapper from Mumbai. His performance looks quite engaging. Alia plays Ranveer’s love interest who supports him throughout. From the trailer, it looks like Alia is studying to be a doctor.
Also in the trailer, Alia is seen answering an elderly lady who asked her whether she will cook meals for her family. She replied, "If everything goes well, then I'll be able to do a liver transplant on you someday."
Another talented actress, Kalki Koechlin also plays a significant role in the film.
Gully Boy is said to be inspired by the life of rappers Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy. Also, it chronicles the lives of Mumbai’s independent hip-hop artistes.
A trailer announcement video was also released by the makers on January 4. The 1.29-minute clip had Ranveer rapping 'Asli Hip Hop'.
After its world premiere at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival, it will open in theatres on February 14. Gully Boy also stars Vijay Raaz, Chaitanya Sharma, Amruta Subhash and Surveen Chawla.
