Irrfan Khan, who was being treated for neuroendocrine tumour in London, was spotted at the Mumbai airport on Saturday morning. He chose to hide his face from the shutterbugs.

Actor Irrfan Khan was on Saturday spotted by the paparazzis at the Mumbai airport. This is his first appearance since he returned to India after undergoing treatment for neuroendocrine tumour in London.

The 52-year-old actor had revealed last year in March that he was suffering from neuroendocrine tumour and has been away from the limelight since then.

In photos doing the rounds on social media, Irrfan's face was not completely visible as the actor covered it with a scarf. The actor was donning a pink jacket over a white shirt with a pair of camouflage cargo pants and a hat.

According to Bollywood paparazzi Viral Bhayani, Irrfan did not wish to show his face and therefore, the lens men stationed at the airport clicked a picture of his from behind. Viral, on his Instagram page, has also shared an old picture of the actor that has him posing with Shah Rukh Khan in the same outfit. It has probably been done to establish that the actor clicked on the airport today morning is indeed Irrfan.

Earlier, there were reports that Irrfan is undergoing treatment in the city-based hospital here, but a source close to the actor has denied, saying, "He isn't here for any treatment."

It is still unclear when the actor will be returning to work and start shooting for Hindi Medium 2, a sequel to his 2017 comedy drama.

On the work front, Irrfan, who was last seen in 2018’s critically-acclaimed road film Karwaan with Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan, is rumoured to soon begin shooting Hindi Medium 2, the sequel to his 2017 film Hindi Medium. Dinesh Vijan, the producer of the film, had earlier confirmed that the script of the film was ready and that he would take it on floors after the release of Luka Chuppi.

He was supposed to play the leading role in Shoojit Sircar’s Udham Singh, a film based on the life story of an Indian freedom fighter. However, reportedly due to the actor’s unavailability, he has now been replaced by Vicky Kaushal. The film will go on floors next month and will release next year.

Irrfan, who has delivered outstanding performances in movies like Paan Singh Tomar, Haasil, Maqbool and Piku, has also established himself in the West with movies like The Namesake, Life of Pi and Jurassic World.
