Filmmaker Mani Ratnam's health deteriorates; complains of chest pain

Renowned director Mani Ratnam was hospitalised in Chennai after he complained of chest pain on 26 July evening.

According to recent reports, the 62-year-old filmmaker's condition is now stated to be stable. However, the doctors have kept him under vigilance.

 Popular Tollywood and Kollywood celebs have been visiting Mani Ratnam in Chennai’s Apollo hospital. Mani Ratnam's manager said that the National Award-winning director visited the hospital for a routine check-up.

However, this is not the first time that he has faced chest issues. Earlier, he reportedly survived a heart attack in 2004 when he was directing the film Yuva. According to reports, he also suffered heart problems and chest pain twice, once in 2009 and then in 2015.

The director recently completed shooting for Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. His last film was Kaatru Veliyidai starring Tamil actor Karthi.
