Certain groups aim to sabotage 'Family Star' & hinder Vijay Devarakonda's success. Producers filed a police case against negative social media posts, impacting the film's box office

Production house Sri Venkateswara Creations has recently revealed that certain individuals and social media factions are actively attempting to thwart the success of the film 'Family Star' and impede the rise of its lead actor, Vijay Devarakonda. The situation has escalated to the point where the producers have taken legal action against those who are spreading what they describe as 'negative posts' about the movie on various social media platforms. An official complaint has been lodged with the Cybercrime Police in Hyderabad by Anurag Parvataneni, Vijay's manager.

'Family Star', starring Vijay Devarakonda alongside Mrunal Thakur, made its theatrical debut on April 5. However, the film has faced significant criticism from reviewers and a mixed reception from audiences. Sri Venkateswara Creations asserts that the negative online discourse initiated by certain motivated groups has had a detrimental impact on the film's box office performance.

Prior to the movie's release, there were already disparaging remarks circulating on social media platforms. The complaint filed by Anurag Parvataneni and Nishant Kumar, the president of Vijay Devarakonda's fan organization, cites specific instances of such negative publicity, supported by screenshots gathered from social media.

The complaint alleges that certain individuals are deliberately inciting hatred towards the film, leading to financial losses by affecting its box office earnings. Sri Venkateswara Creations expressed confidence in the authorities' commitment to investigating the matter and taking appropriate action against those responsible for orchestrating what they perceive as hateful campaigns against Vijay Devarakonda's films.

Despite initial anticipation, 'Family Star' faced a setback in its box office performance. On the crucial Monday following its release, the film's earnings plummeted to Rs 1.42 crore, a sharp decline from the previous day's Rs 3.1 crore, as reported by box office tracker Sacnilk. The film has accumulated a total domestic nett collection of Rs 13.72 crore, with a worldwide gross of Rs 23.2 crore.
