Actor Rana Daggubati is set to produce the upcoming biopic on celebrated cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan. While it was earlier confirmed that Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi will be portraying the role of the legendary Sri Lankan spinner, it has now been confirmed that Daggubati will be a part of the film’s production.

According to reports, Rana and Suresh Productions, owned by the actor’s father Daggubati Suresh, will come together with DAR Motion Pictures to produce the movie under a big budget.

While the other details are not revealed yet, it has been reported that the movie is set to go on floors by the end of 2019 and is to release in 2020. The makers of the film are currently searching for actors who can be cast in other roles in the movie.

The project is reportedly titled 800, after the number of Test wickets taken by the off-spin bowler.

Earlier reports had said that the big budget film will be shot in India, Sri Lanka and England and will be primarily released in Tamil. The movie will be later dubbed into several other languages.

Vijay currently has many movies in hand including Laabam, in which Shruti Haasan is paired opposite him.
