A video shows Akshay Kumar allegedly speaking against Tanushree Dutta. The actor calls it fake and files a complaint.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has reportedly approached the cyber police station at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), alleging that his old video has been edited to make it appear as if those are his views on Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar controversy.

According to a report published in Hindustan Times, police officers, as well as Akshay’s spokesperson, confirmed filing the complaint on Friday.

“The narrative of the video was edited in a way that it looks like Kumar is expressing his views on the Dutta-Patekar controversy, which he never did,” said an officer.

The edited video, which was uploaded on YouTube, went viral. And after the complaint, the video was removed from the YouTube channel. In the video, Akshay was indeed interacting with the media and was asked about another actress. However, the morphed clip had someone edit his answer with the name Tanushree and it appeared as if he was speaking against her.

An officer told HT, "The narrative of the video was edited in a way that it looks like Kumar is expressing his views on the Dutta-Patekar controversy, which he never did. We tried to search the video on YouTube, but could not get it; probably because it was blocked or removed. We have asked him to produce a copy of the video. The inquiry is going on."

The police quoted that Akshay noticed that the video could hamper his reputation in public and also said that the culprit would face action under the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act.

Akshay recently wrapped up his Housefull 4 schedule in Jaisalmer, which also stars Nana Patekar. He still hasn't commented anything on the ongoing controversy yet.
