The incident occurred during AP Dhillon's performance at Coachella, one of the world's premier music events. However, instead of receiving applause for his performance, he was met with boos from social media fans after he smashed his guitar on stage.

In response to the backlash, AP Dhillon took to Instagram to offer what some have deemed a "cringe-worthy" clarification. He posted candid photos of himself on stage at Coachella, including one taken just before he destroyed his guitar, with the caption, "The media is controlled and I'm out of control."

However, rather than quelling the criticism, his post only seemed to fuel it further. Netizens expressed their disapproval, with one comment stating that while AP Dhillon paid tribute to the late Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala during his performance, he should have shown respect for musical instruments as well. The comment criticized his lack of manners and principles, concluding with "God bless." Another commenter dismissed his caption as "cringe."

During his Coachella performance, AP Dhillon and songwriter-rapper Shinda Kahlon paid tribute to Sidhu Moosewala by displaying the message 'Justice for Sidhu Moosewala' on the screen while performing their chart-topping single 'Brown Munde' on stage.

Despite the attempt to honor Moosewala, AP Dhillon's actions overshadowed the performance, leading to widespread criticism and discussions on social media platforms.
