Anushka Sen made history by becoming the first Indian artist to perform live on stage at Times Square, New York City. This multi-talented actor marked her debut as a singer in the West, collaborating with UN Young Leader for SDGs, AY Young, on his Battery Tour, which aims to power 1,000 concerts with clean energy.

Together, Anushka and AY Young performed their song "Graduation" from "Project 17," a music album focused on the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The song, composed by Grammy Award Winner Ken Lewis, highlights Anushka's commitment to promoting education. The event, part of Climate Week organised by the Climate Group, represents a significant milestone in Anushka's career and showcases her talent on an international platform.

In a proud moment for India, Anushka took the stage at Times Square, radiating confidence in a stunning upcycled outfit designed by a local creator from Jaipur. This choice showcased her commitment to supporting homegrown brands and sustainability. Complementing her ensemble with a small bindi, she added a cultural flair. Performing alongside a live band, Anushka delivered her vocals with grace, embodying India's spirit on the international stage. Set against the backdrop of one of the world's busiest intersections, this event highlighted her dedication to global education, environmental sustainability, and making a positive impact on the world.

A proud moment

Reflecting on her experience, Anushka expressed, “I am so grateful that I got to be the first Indian to perform at Times Square. The fact that there were people from all over the world watching us perform was an exhilarating experience. I am so thankful to AY Young for giving me this opportunity and Ken Lewis who flew in just to support us; it makes me feel like I have a family in America.”

International projects

Alongside her performance, Anushka has been making headlines in Korea as she works on her first international project, a K-Film titled "Asia." In this action thriller, she is set to take on a significant role alongside actors from various countries.
