Ankita Lokhande declines role in Karan Johar's 'Student Of The Year 3' web series. Franchise transitions to digital format under director Reema Maya
In a recent development, it has been revealed that the much-anticipated 'Student Of The Year 3,' previously speculated to be a film, will instead be a web series. This confirmation came from none other than Karan Johar himself during the Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) in Chandigarh held in April.
Ankita Lokhande, fresh off her successful stint in Bigg Boss 17, has been making waves in the industry. However, despite her rising popularity, she has reportedly turned down an offer to be a part of Karan Johar's ambitious project, 'Student Of The Year 3.'
According to a reliable source close to the actress, Ankita was indeed approached for a role in 'Student Of The Year 3,' which is set to be a web series this time around. However, she declined the offer for reasons undisclosed. The insider revealed, 'Yes, Ankita was approached for Student Of The Year 3. I am not sure about the role she was offered, but she was definitely asked if she could be a part of the SOTY franchise. However, she has rejected the offer, and nobody knows the reason behind her decision.'

The 'Student Of The Year' franchise, known for launching fresh talent into the industry, saw its first installment in 2012 with the debut of Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan. The second film arrived in 2019, starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, and Tara Sutaria.
For the upcoming web series, Karan Johar has entrusted the directorial duties to Reema Maya, known for her work in 'Nocturnal Burger.' Johar emphasized that he wanted Maya to infuse her own vision into the series, stating, 'Reema Maya will be directing the digital version of Student of the Year. But it will be her way and definitely not mine because if I'll enter Reema Maya’s world, then I will make it more of an illusion, which is what her name means. I just wanted it to be her voice. She made it her own series.'
While rumors abound regarding the casting of Shanaya Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan in 'Student Of The Year 3,' no official confirmation has been made yet.
Meanwhile, Ankita Lokhande, known for her recent appearance in the film 'Swatantra Veer Savarkar' alongside Randeep Hooda, continues to be in the spotlight. Additionally, her music video titled 'Laa Pila De Sharaab' with her husband, Vicky Jain, was recently released, further adding to her diverse portfolio.
