Airaa: Nayanthara starrer horror teaser will send chills down your spine

With passing of the time, Nayanthara has become choosy with scripts. She acted in two horror movies; Maya that was released in 2015 and Dora released in 2017.

Chennai: Nayanthara is known as Lady Superstar of the Tamil film industry and a glimpse into her role in the eerie flick Airaa suggests that the horror movie is sure to send chills down one’s spine. The teaser has been released and continues to receive tremendous response.

Nayanthara will be seen in a double role along with Sudarsan Srinivasan, Sundaramurthy KS, Priyanka Ravindran, Karthik Jogesh, Siva Sankar and Yogi Babu.

Of late, Nayanthara's selection of movies has narrowed down and she has seemingly become choosy in selecting scripts. She acted in two horror movies; Maya which released in 2015 and Dora which released in 2017.

In Airaa, Nayanthara plays the role of a school student and a modern-day woman. Thought not much of the story has been revealed, the teaser hints that it the plot of the movie has a revenge-based premise. There’s enough for one to surmise that it might be modern-day woman’s revenge against those who committed atrocities against her former self (the school girl).

Airaa is Nayanthara's 63rd movie and is directed by KM Sarjun, who is known for his short films Maa and Lakshmi that earned him a quite a reputation. His debut feature film was Echcharikkai Idhu Manidhargal Nadamaadum Idam starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sathyaraj and Kishore.

Airaa is produced by Kotapadi J Rajesh. It was scheduled for Christmas (2018) release but experienced delays.

The lead star Nayanthara's has another film lined up that will release in a few days; Viswasam in which she stars opposite Ajith. This big budget movie is expected to be one of the biggest releases of 2019. She has also signed on to Chakri Toleti’s Kolayuthir Kaalam and will play the female lead in Kamal Hassan's Indian 2.
