Dostana 2 is finally in the making. Karan Johar dropped a hint in the post he shared a few hours ago.

Dostana 2 is finally on Karan Johar's mind. He has now announced the lead cast of the film. The second instalment of the blockbuster (Dostana) will star Kartik Aryan, Janhvi Kapoor and a "suitable boy", whose name is yet to be revealed.

The first movie featuring Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan caused quite a stir among the audience and critics with its unique and humorous storyline that revolves around homosexuality. The story is about two men, who pretend to be gay to share an apartment with a girl, and end up eventually falling in love with her.

On Wednesday, Karan finally posted a video announcing the cast. Karan's caption says, "The return of the franchise with unlimited madness! Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor & a soon to be launched fresh face - making it the trio for Dostana2, directed by Collind Cunha (SIC)."

The script is penned by Navjot Gulati, Sumit Aroraa, Rishabh Sharma and Collin D'Cunha.

The sequel will be directed by debutant filmmaker Collin D'Cunha and the makers will be soon announcing another male lead for it.

"I am excited to take the Dostana franchise forward with Kartik and Janhvi, and can't wait to create some desi boy-girl madness with them. This is Dharma Productions' first film with Kartik and we are looking forward to working with him.

"We will also be introducing a new male lead, who will join the incredible talent at our production house. Collin D'Cunha also makes his directorial debut with 'Dostana 2'," Karan said in a statement.

Kartik is on cloud nine with his hands full with big projects lined up. The actor recently wrapped up shooting for Pati Patni Aur Woh alongside Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar. He is currently busy with Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal 2, which stars Sara Ali Khan.

On the other hand, Janhvi is currently working on a biopic based on Gunjan Saxena, India's first ever woman IAF officer. KJo's favourite B-town kid, Janhvi will also be seen in his multi-starrer Takht with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Bednekar and Anil Kapoor.
