Actress Lekha Washington has confused everyone with a Tweet mentioning the Tamil film Kettavan starring actor Simbu followed by the hashtag #MeToo.

South Indian actress Lekha Washington is now facing backlash after Tweeting: "One word: Kettavan. #metoo."

One word : Kettavan.

The Tamil film Kettavan (which translated to 'bad person'). This film was made in the year 2008 starring Simbu aka STR and Lekha Washington in the lead roles, but the film did not see the light of day due to unknown reasons.

However, she faced backlash from Simbu's fans, who assumed that the actress has accused him of sexual misconduct by naming the film in her Tweet.

this woman is a big failure in her life. now using simbu 's name to get some fame.

if you are for real, comment on what & how on kettavan?????? I challenge you! speak up!!!!!

if u really face that situation, then y don't u complaint directly to Nadigar sangam or u can issue a press release regarding this.Simply putting a tweet without any clear information on that issue doesn't make sense,Don't use social media for ur cheap publicity

— Raz STR (@Str_Raz)

Now tweets like this is what mis leads the movement from the right to the wrong path. Either speak up boldly with complete details else focus on whatever you are doing currently. Seems like trying to get unwanted publicity

I am not surprised just disappointed. Simbu letting down is fans and family

According to reports, Simbu and Lekha had some bitter experiences during the making of the film and both the actors vowed never to work with each other again. While many netizens slammed Lekha, many have also stood by her.
