Rapper StarBoy LOC is riding high on the success of his new release Bob Marley
Within a span of few days, the song Bob Marley has already garnered 2.7 million views and has the audience hooked to its peppy beats. Delhi rapper Lokesh Kumar aka StarBoy LOC (Ladka Out of Control) thanked the audience for such a warm reception and is pumped for his upcoming releases.
“The song was made a year ago in Chandigarh. All we had in mind was that we wanted to create beats that can make anyone groove. We tried dubstep, trance but the desi touch was missing. It was over few months that we ended up finalising on this version,” he said.
The rapper who has sung songs such as Chandigarh Police, Dilli Se Hu and Insta, among others, credits Yo Yo Honey Singh for changing people’s perception for rappers as well as singers.
“As a 90s kid, the only thing expected from you is to become an engineer or a doctor or a CA at the most. Professions like becoming a singer or a rapper were not encouraged and it was difficult to pursue your
passion. The credit for making rappers popular and introducing rap music in the industry goes to Yo Yo Honey Singh which has been followed by Badshah and Raftaar.”
The song is a collaboration with actor-singer Suyyash Rai and features Benafsha Soonawala and Divya Aggarwal.
About his collaboration with Suyyash, Kumar said, “The song was ready in Chandigarh. We went to Mumbai to shoot it and that’s where the collaboration talks started. Suyyash is very talented and a humble
person. I was skeptical initially but now he’s like family.”
