Actress Rajshri Deshpande, who essays the role of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's wife, is a fresh face that has caught the nation’s eye, thanks to Netflix Original web series, Sacred Games."I think this is the best time to be cinema, not just for actors, but for writers, directors, cinematographers and music directors as well. With platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and others, it gives you more scope to explore with content,” she said, in an exclusive chat with My Nation.

Since the last few days, India has been talking about the Netflix Original web series, Sacred Games, and it is also grabbing the national headlines for all the wrong reasons.

The show is co-directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap who are known to bring out the best in the actors. Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Kubra Sait and others have acted brilliantly and received rave reviews from the audience and actress Rajshri Deshpande, who essays the role of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's wife, is a fresh face that has caught the nation’s eye. Rajshri was last seen in Pan Nalin’s acclaimed Angry Indian Goddesses and more recently the controversial Malayalam movie S Durga, directed by Sanal Kumar. She essayed the lead role.

“Nawaz is an amazing co-actor to work with and a very observant person too. I had to go two notches high and also challenge myself in every scene with him, as you always have to be on our toes when working with him," said the actor. Talking about director Anurag Kashyap, she said,

“Anurag will make you see the character through his eyes. He knows each actor’s strength and can bring out the best from them. I feel so confident and at my best when Anurag is behind the camera. He is completely clear in his thoughts and at the same time really calm, fun and crazy on the sets."

The actor thinks this is the best time to be in the practice. "I think this is the best time to be cinema, not just for actors, but for writers, directors, cinematographers and music directors as well. With platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and others, it gives you more scope to explore with content.”

Rajshri will be next seen in Nandita Das’ Manto with Nawaz.
