New Delhi: If participation is key to the dance of democracy, then West Bengal surely led the way with 66.46% voting till 5 PM and Jammu and Kashmir with the least participation with a minuscule 9.7% polling. In total, nine states went to poll on Monday.
Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jharkhand went to poll on Monday in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha election.
Bihar, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are the three states that recorded a dismal voting percentage below 50% till 5 PM. While Bihar recorded 44.33%, Maharashtra recorded 42.24% and UP polled 45.08%.

Not just Lok Sabha election but 42 Assembly seats in Odisha and bye-polls for Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, Nighasan in Uttar Pradesh and Krishnaganj in West Bengal also went for the poll. With this phase, the election process in Maharashtra and Odisha has come to an end.
But for Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan, it just started. As for Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal, they have elections in each of the seven phases.
Bihar had five constituencies, MP had six, J&K had one, Jharkhand had three, Maharashtra had a whopping seventeen, Odisha had six, Rajasthan and UP had thirteen each and Bengal had eight constituencies gone for the poll.
