New Delhi: As the entire nation was on the edge of its seat during the counting of the Lok Sabha poll result on Thursday, neighbouring Pakistan was also closely monitoring the elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic win made headlines in leading media organisation in Pakistan.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was also quick to congratulate Narendra Modi for registering a big win in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Imran Khan took to Twitter to congratulate Modi and said that he looks forward to working together with the Modi government to ensure prosperity and progress in South Asia.

A news websites of Pakistan took Lok Sabha result story on the home page with the headline - BJP sweeps Indian polls, leads show. However, in the story it has criticised Modi government and said, “lynchings of Muslims and low-caste Dalits for eating beef and slaughtering and trading in cattle have risen, adding to anxiety among India’s 170-million-strong Muslim population.”
Another leading media organisation Pakistan Today wrote: “Indian PM Modi sweeps to ‘massive’ election win, party says”.
Similarly, Geo TV carried a big picture of BJP workers celebrating Lok Sabha victory picture with the headline “Narendra Modi claims Indian election victory”.
The Express Tribune on the homepage of their website carried two stories related to India. The top story was about Imran Khan congratulating Modi for the win while the second story was about how Modi stunned opposition with 'massive' election win.
