Congress MP Muddahanumegowda from Tumakuru is all set to contest against the alliance party chief Deve Gowda in the Lok Sabha election and has threatened to turn rebel.

Tumakuru: Putting an end to the speculation, JD(S) chief Deve Gowda had announced that he will contest from Tumakuru. This has not gone down well with the sitting Congress MP from Tumakuru constituency, Muddahanumegowda, who has threatened to contest against Deve Gowda.

"I have worked hard in my constituency for five years and have ensured corruption-free administration. I will not give up my seat for the JD(S)," he said.

"I will file my nomination from Congress from Tumakuru on Monday. If I don't get the B-Form from the party, I will decide what my next course of action will be," he added.

Deve Gowda is also set to file his nomination from Tumakuru on Monday between 2 PM and 3 PM.

Congress has given the Tumakuru seat to JD(S) under its seat-sharing agreement. Enraged by this arrangement, Congress MP Muddahanumegowda is all set to contest against Deve Gowda.

"The Congress leaders informed me that the party was handing over Tumakuru constituency to their alliance party JD(S). I have asked leaders the reasons for taking away my seat. All this while, they called me an active and good worker just to use me as a scapegoat. I will go in front of the people's court (election) seeking justice," he said.
