BJP to contest 14 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala; Pathanamthitta candidate to be declared

The BJP will field candidates in 14 seats in Kerala, while the Bharath Dharma Jana Sena will contest for five seats, the PC Thomas-led Kerala Congress will contest in one constituency (Kottayam).
 

Thiruvananthapuram: The BJP on Thursday had finalised its seat-sharing deal with the Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS)and Kerala Congress (PC Thomas) in Kerala for the Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP will field candidates in 14 constituencies in Kerala, while the BDJS will contest in five seats, PC Thomas-led Kerala Congress will contest for one seat; Kottayam.

The most wanted Pathanamthitta seat has been left out of the candidates’ list released by Union minister JP Nadda. BJP state chief PS Sreedharan Pillai, state general secretary K Surendran and Union tourism minister KJ Alphons Kannanthanam were in the race for the Pathanamthitta ticket.

The BJP has decided to field Alphons from Ernakulam against two-time Congress legislator Hibi Eden.
