If you think Rahul Gandhi is king of comedy, read what Priyanka just said

Who is worse, Rahul or Priyanka?

It seems sister is no less than brother in comedy.

Congress general secretary for East Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, took to Twitter on Saturday to wish everyone on Nauroz while sharing a traditional thali that her mother, Sonia Gandhi, the former president of the Congress, made for her.

"Nauroz Mubarak to all my Kashmiri sisters and brothers!! Despite my mother’s “don’t forget to make the thali” messages, I had no time to make my thaali yesterday but came home after road show and found it placed on the dining table. How sweet are mom’s?" tweeted Priyanka.

But there was a problem. And that is, today is not Nauroz. Nauroz or Navroz is the Persian New Year and is an auspicious occasion for Zoroastrians, Bahais and some Muslim communities. It was celebrated on March 21 this year. Today, on the other hand, is Navreh, which the Kashmiri Pandits celebrate as their New Year's Day.

The Congress president Rahul Gandhi has already become the laughing stock of the nation with a litany of bloopers and now sister Priyanka has joined in. It is all the more ridiculous for Priyanka to confuse between Navroz and Navreh considering her Kashmiri Pandit roots.

Priyanka was kept out of active politics for a long time by the Gandhi family despite the Congress ground level workers demanding her involvement. The Congress workers felt that Priyanka's facial resemblance to grandmother and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi would have swayed the people, especially Gandhi loyalists who may have just started to lose faith in the dynasty and their school of politics. Priyanka, the Congress workers, thought would be able to turn the sagging fortunes of the party that had ceded a lot of ground after the 2014 general election, losing one state after another.

It may be noted that Rahul-Priyanka's mother, Sonia Gandhi, had always been ridiculed for her Hindi pronunciation. Such laughable conduct by the leaders of what is called India's Grand Old Party is not going to help when faced with the Narendra Modi juggernaut. More such gaffes, and the Congress's seats may well fall below the paltry 44 in 2014.

As expected, Priyanka was taken to task on Twitter. Here is a collection of tweets

It's Naureh ; Not Nauroz ??;
Which school had u read this. ??
Anyway,  all Mubarak to all Kaahmiri when local kaahmiri pandit will get their own land in Kashmir......
Don't forget... Otherwise very little time remaining when Congress party will be history on the land of Indian.

Happy "Navreh" to Kashmiri Pandits. Your message, your mom's thaali and your general knowledge, are as fake as you. Family problem, methinks.

Malkin ne bol diya to Navroz hi manega, jo karna kai kar lo. Ye koi Bhakt nahi jo shikayat kare yaa rooth jaayenge, yeh ghulam hain ghulami me bas itni hi chhoot hai.
