When to observe Sankashti Chaturthi fast in Sawan 2024?

According to the Panchang, the Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in Sawan began at 07:30 am on Wednesday, July 24, and will last until 04:40 am on Thursday, July 25. As the moon will rise on July 24 during Chaturthi Tithi, Sankashti Chaturthi fast will be observed on this day.

According to Ujjain astrologer Pt Praveen Dwivedi four auspicious yogas, Saubhagya, Shobhan, Manas, and Padma will occur on Wednesday, July 24. The auspicious times for the day are:

Sankashti Chaturthi Puja Vidhi

•    On Wednesday, July 24, wake up early, bathe, keep a fast and worship. 
•    Follow the fasting rules throughout the day, but you may eat fruits if desired.
•    Begin the worship by placing an idol of Lord Shri Ganesh at an auspicious time in the evening.
•    Apply tilak with kumkum and adorn the idol with a flower garland. Light a lamp with pure ghee.
•    Offer Abir, Gulal, Roli, rice, sacred thread, paan, durva, and coconut, one of each.
•    Chant the mantra ‘Om Gan Ganpatayai Namah’ for the puja.
•    Offer fruits and sweets, perform aarti, and distribute the Prasad among the devotees.
•    When the moon rises, offer Arghya with water, place flowers, and worship the Moon.
•    After worshiping the moon, eat a little Prasad before having your meal.
•    Observing the Sankashti Chaturthi fast and performing the worship will bring happiness and prosperity to the home.
