Manchester: Pakistan players, under fire for the humiliating loss to India at the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 in England and Wales, have urged the fans not to use “bad word” and keep families out of criticism.
After India thrashed Pakistan by 89 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method at Old Trafford on Sunday (June 16), the ‘men in green’ have been at the receiving end of non-stop criticism.

Angry fans have taken the social media route to slam the Pakistan players for their dismal show against the Virat Kohli-led side in Manchester. Even former cricketers are angry at the team.
Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar had slammed the “brainless captaincy” of Sarfaraz Ahmed while there were comments from fans stating that the players were unfit due to eating burgers just days before the big match against India.

Now, fast bowler Mohammad Amir has taken to Twitter to plead with fans not to use “bad words”. However, the left-arm paceman said he welcomes criticism but not abuse. Amir was the lone bright spot in bowling for Pakistan as he took 3/47 against India.
“Pls dont use bad words for the players yes u guys can criticise our performance we will bounce back InshAllah we need ur support (sic),” Amit tweeted on Tuesday (June 18).

“On behalf of all athletes I would like to request media and people to maintain respect levels in regards to our families, who should not be dragged into petty discussions at will. It’s not a nice thing to do,” Malik wrote on his Twitter page.

The Pakistani TV channel had claimed that Malik was having an “outing” before the big match as if to portray that he was not serious about the contest.
Sania had hit back at the TV channel as she had tweeted, “That’s the video you shot without asking us,disrespecting our privacy even though we had a child with us?& got told off for doing so,& u came up with this crap?FYI ‘outing’ was dinner & yes ppl are allowed to eat if they lose a match!Bunch of fools!Try better content nxt time (sic).”
