West Indies series: India T20I, ODI squads announced; Bhuvneshwar Kumar returns

Virat Kohli was rested for the T20I series against Bangladesh which India won 2-1 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Now, Kohli is back to lead the India T20I squad against West Indies

Kolkata: Captain Virat Kohli returned to the Indian Twenty20 International squad to face the West Indies at home as the BCCI selectors picked both T20I and ODI teams on Thursday (November 21).

Kohli was rested for the T20I series against Bangladesh which India won 2-1 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube, who played T20Is against Bangladesh, was rewarded with maiden ODI call up while Bhuvenshwar Kumar returned from injury. A side strain and a hamstring injury forced seamer Bhuvneshwar to come back midway from the tour of West Indies in August.

Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav were recalled to the T20I squad. Sanju Samson, who was in the squad for Bangladesh series but did not get a game, was dropped.

India will play three T20Is against the West Indies with the series opener in Mumbai on December 6 followed by matches in Thiruvananthapuram (December 8) and Hyderabad (December 11).

The three ODIs will be played in Chennai (December 15), Visakhapatnam (December 18) and Cuttack (December 22).

ODI squad: Virat Kohli (captain), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Shivam Dube, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

T20I squad: Virat Kohli (captain), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
