'Absolutely. Bits and by pieces, he ripped me apart today,' Sanjay Manjrekar said in a video shared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on its official Twitter handle after the World Cup 2019 semi-final
Manchester: Former India batsman-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has apologised to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and admitted that through his brilliance the left-hander “ripped” him apart during the ICC World Cup semi-final in Manchester on Wednesday (July 10).
After being reduced to 24/4 in the opening 10 overs of the 240-run chase, Indian hopes were revived thanks to Jadeja’s counter-attacking 77 in the company of MS Dhoni, who made 50. However, the duo, despite a century partnership for the seventh wicket, could not carry the team past the finish line.

India’s World Cup 2019 journey ended as they lost to New Zealand by 18 runs at Old Trafford.
After the match, Manjrekar, who had earlier called Jadeja a “bits and pieces” cricketer and for that the all-rounder had lashed out at him on Twitter, praised Jadeja’s brilliance and said sorry.

“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner," Manjrekar had said.
Jadeja responded like this. “Still i have played twice the number of matches you have played and i m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea. @sanjaymanjrekar (sic),” Jadeja tweeted to his 2.3 million plus followers.

— ICC (@ICC)"Bits and by pieces of sheer brilliance, just proved me wrong on all counts. This is the Ravindra Jadeja that we have not seen very often. In the last 40 innings, highest score has been around 33. Today he was brilliant, economical with the ball and the familiar celebration that you see more often in Test matches,” he added.
When he was asked about Jadeja looking for him after completing his half century, Manjrekar said, "Forgive me, I wasn't there. I have to apologise. He was looking for me, star of today, looking for me, I wasn't there. I was in the lounge eating my lunch. I am so sorry.”
