IPL 2020: RCB unveil redesigned logo on Valentine’s Day

Ahead of IPL 2020, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have released their new logo. IPL 2020 will begin on March 29

Bengaluru: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) today (February 14) unveiled their brand-new identity in the form of a new logo ahead of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020).

“The redesigned logo with the majestic lion illustrates and brings alive RCB’s philosophy, a bold and fearless attitude of playing exciting cricket,” the franchise said in a media release.

“The new Royal Challengers Bangalore logo design balances the simplicity and ‘iconicity’ of the lion to create the next chapter for one of India’s most iconic sports team. The visual identity embodies the bold pride and challenger spirit, qualities that each RCB team members bring to the team,” the team said.

Speaking on the launch of the new visual identity, Sanjeev Churiwala, chairman of RCB, said, “The idea behind the design of the new brand identity to give our rampant lion a contemporary makeover. The elements in the logo is a commitment to continuously entertain and engage with fans who are the force behind Royal Challengers Bangalore. We believe a change in identity for the club was necessary to effectively live and breathe this vision and celebrate the passion for cricket and playing bold.”

RCB recently announced a three-year partnership with Muthoot Fincorp Ltd, a part of the Muthoot Pappachan Group, popularly known as Muthoot Blue, a diversified conglomerate in the financial services industry.

RCB also showered love on their fans by tweeting a post in the local language, Kannada.

IPL 2020 is set to begin on March 29. The full schedule is yet to be released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). RCB have never won the IPL title.
