Hardik Pandya and wife Natasa Stankovic expecting first child; Virat Kohli leads wishes for couple

Virat Kohli led the wishes for Hardik Pandya after the India all-rounder broke the news on Instagram that his wife Natasa Stankovic is pregnant

Mumbai: Hardik Pandya and his wife Natasa Stankovic are expecting their first child, the India all-rounder has announced. Cricketers and fans flooded social media with wishes for the couple.

On Sunday evening (May 31), the 26-year-old Hardik posted photos on his Instagram account and broke the news. The duo had got engaged in January this year and during the lockdown due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, they tied the knot.

“Natasa and I have had a great journey together and it is just about to get better Together we are excited to welcome a new life into our lives very soon. We’re thrilled for this new phase of our life and seek your blessings and wishes (sic),” Hardik, who has played 11 Tests, 54 ODIs and 40 T20Is, wrote with the pictures.

Hardik had not made public about his wedding with the Serbian actress. Fans were taken by surprise when he posted a picture from their wedding ceremony.

India captain Virat Kohli, team’s head coach Ravi Shastri and several other cricketers wished the couple. “Congratulations to you both H. Lots of love and blessings for the 3rd member of your clan (sic),” Kohli wrote on Instagram.

The Baroda right-hander was set to return to cricket action in IPL 2020 but the cash-rich Twenty20 tournament has been suspended indefinitely. Hardik, who plays for Mumbai Indians (MI), has fully recovered from his back injury. He had a surgery.

He was included in the India ODI squad for the home series against South Africa. However, the series was called off due to the coronavirus. Hardik has not played for India since September 2019.
