BCCI took to Twitter to post the clip of the match where he scored his first-ever century in international cricket. The right-handed batsman’s first century came against Sri Lanka in Kolkata in December 2009. Virat Kohli had scored 107 runs and formed a formidable partnership with Gautam Gambhir to help India chase down 315 under lights. Kohli was so good with the bat in the match that Gambhir had handed him his own Man of the Match award despite scoring 150.

In the ICC ODI rankings, Virat Kohli is the only Indian batsman who has managed to go past the mark of 890 points. Sachin Tendulkar held the previous record of 887 in 1998.

Kohli is also the second India batsman after Sunil Gavaskar to breach the 900-point mark in the ICC Player Rankings for Test Batsmen.

In October last year, the Indian captain became the fastest batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs.

He also became the first batsman to score 20,000 international runs in a decade.

Kohli is now the most successful Indian ODI captain with a success rate is 75.89% bettering MS Dhoni.
