Duleep Trophy 2019: BCCI announces squads, dates, venue; Shubman Gill, Faiz Fazal, Priyank Panchal named captains

Last year, India Blue won the trophy as they defeated India Red by an innings and 187 runs. Duleep Trophy will be played on round robin format with the top two teams playing the final of the four-day tournament

Mumbai: Shubman Gill, Faiz Fazal and Priyank Panchal have been named captains of India Blue, India Green and India Red teams respectively for the Duleep Trophy to be played in Bengaluru from August 17 to September 8.

On Tuesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squads via Twitter and on its website.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked the squads for Duleep Trophy 2019-20 to be played in Bengaluru from 17th August to 8th September,” BCCI said.

Duleep Trophy marks the start of the Indian domestic 2019-20 season. The season will culminate with Irani Cup in March 2020.

India Blue: Shubman Gill (captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rajat Patidar, Ricky Bhui, Anmolpreet Singh, Ankeet Bawne, Snell Patel (wicketkeeper), Shreyas Gopal, Saurabh Kumar, Jalaj Saxena, Tushar Deshpande, Basil Thampi, Aniket Chouhdary, Diwesh Pathania, Ashutosh Amar.

India Green: Faiz Fazal (captain), Akshath Reddy, Dhruv Shorey, Siddhesh Lad, Priyam Garg, Akshdeep Nath, Rahul Chahar, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, Jayant Yadav, Ankit Rajpoot, Ishan Porel, Tanveer-Ul-Haq, Akshay Wadkar (wicketkeeper), Rajesh Mohanty, Milind Kumar.

India Red: Priyank Panchal (captain), Abhimanyu Easwaran, Axar Patel, Karun Nair, Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Hapreet Singh Bhatia, Mahipal Lomror, Aditya Sarwate, Akshay Wakhare, Varun Aaron, Ronit More, Jaydev Unadkat, Sandeep Warrier, Ankit Kalsi.
