From excelling in academics at a young age to steering one of the biggest software companies globally, Sridhar Vembu's journey is nothing short of remarkable. Hailing from Tamil Nadu, India, Vembu's path to entrepreneurship began after he graduated from IIT Madras and Princeton University, following his impressive performance in the fiercely competitive IIT JEE exam.

Leaving behind a lucrative job at Qualcomm in the mid-1990s, Vembu embraced his entrepreneurial spirit and co-founded AdventNet in 1996 with his brothers. Their venture took off with creating Web NMS, a telecom software that gained attention for its effectiveness, even outperforming established players like HP.

Despite facing setbacks during the dot-com crash of 2001, Vembu remained steadfast in his vision for long-term growth. He turned down lucrative offers to sell AdventNet, instead opting to navigate through challenging times. This resilience paid off when they launched ManageEngine, a successful IT management tool widely adopted by Fortune 500 companies.

In a strategic move, Vembu acquired the domain name "Zoho" and introduced Zoho CRM in 2005, marking a significant shift in their business trajectory. Zoho quickly gained traction, offering a suite of products and mobile apps, challenging industry giants like Salesforce with its competitive pricing.

Refusing to succumb to acquisition offers from competitors, Vembu steered Zoho to unprecedented success. By November 2021, Zoho Corporation's revenue soared to 5,230 crores, further boosted by the COVID-19 pandemic, reaching 6,711 crores in revenue and 1,918 crores in profits.

Despite his immense wealth and success, Vembu leads a modest life in his hometown, riding a bicycle and living a simple lifestyle. Recently, he made headlines with his newest mode of transportation, an electric three-wheeler, showcasing his commitment to sustainability.

With a net worth of USD 3.75 billion and recognition as one of India's wealthiest individuals, Vembu's journey from a small-town boy to a business magnate and Padma Shri Awardee is a testament to his foresight, perseverance, and innovative spirit, inspiring many the way.
