Sanjay Leela Bhansali's masterpiece featured actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff. From mind-blowing performances to choreography to extraordinary costumes to gigantic set the movie had it all.

Here are some facts from Devdas.

Aishwarya Rai, who played the role of Paro (Devdas's childhood lover) gave a mesmerising dance performance for 'Dola Re Dola' song along with Madhuri Dixit. But none of the crew members knew that during her dance performance she was bleeding from her ears due to heavy earrings she was wearing. She danced non-stop and did her best, and when she had completed her dance moves, the crew members came to know about her bleeding ears. On the other hand, Madhuri was pregnant during the shooting of the song.

Madhuri’s (Chandramukhi) introduction song 'Kaahe Chhed Mohe' was written by Pandit Birju Maharaj and was one of the best-choreographed songs in the movie. Her ensembles cost Rs 15 Lakh, with one of the ghaghra weighing nearly 30 kg, by designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

In 2002, Devdas was made on a budget of Rs 50 crore with Rs 20 crore spent on six sets. According to reports, 700 lightmen worked with the help of 42 generators to supply 30 lakh watts of power. It was said that Rs 12 crore spent on Chandramukhi's Kotha. A report in India Today claimed that “1.22 lakh pieces of stained glass were used to make Paro's room in a haveli that cost Rs 3 crore. Chandramukhi's Kotha alone cost Rs 12 crore.”
