Sonam Kapoor responds to Anil Kapoor's picture with Dawood Ibrahim via tweet, saying, 'Hope Lord Ram can forgive you'

Sonam Kapoor, who is very active on social media, was recently trolled and targeted because of her father's alleged connections with Dawood Ibrahim.

It happened when a troll asked Sonam to explain an old picture where her father Anil Kapoor is seen standing beside Dawood Ibrahim. After the recent incidents of firing at Shaheen Bagh and Jamia Millia Islamia University, Sonam had tweeted, “This is something that I never imagined would happen in India. Stop this divisive dangerous politics. It fuels HATE. If you believe yourself to be a Hindu, then understand that the religion is about karma and dharma and this is not either of those.”

Taking a dig at her, a Twitter user wrote, "आप बहुत प्रखरता से अपनी आवाज़ उठाती हैं। कृपया देश को बताएंगी कि आतंकी दाऊद के साथ आपके पिता की तस्वीर का संबंध उनके कर्म से है या उनके धर्म से? (You raise your voice very strongly. Please tell the country whether your father's picture with terrorist Dawood is related to his karma or his religion?)"

He went to a cricket match with raj kapoor and krishna Kapoor. And was in a box to see it. I think you need to stop pointing fingers and there are three that point back at you . I hope lord Ram can forgive you for being evil and spreading violence.

To that, she tweeted, "He went to a cricket match with Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor. And was in a box to see it. I think you need to stop pointing fingers and there are three that point back at you. I hope Lord Ram can forgive you for being evil and spreading violence (sic)."

#Repost • @rheakapoor Very rarely do I get into politics on social media because my first thought is who really cares what I think? Am I equipped to give an opinion on a public platform about things that I may barely understand? But now I have to say that I know our generation and when we look back I’m afraid we may be remembered for things we didn’t stand for. I know this is not who we are. This is not what we believe. So then I guess for those afraid to speak up fearing they may make a mistake, this is the only way to use your voice. To say, I don’t know everything and there may be things that i do not understand. But I know this isn’t right. For everyone who feels pressure to ‘pick a side’ don’t. Say what you feel. Most good people I know react to sincerity with understanding and empathy. Be sincere, use your voice and tell the truth. What’s happening in our country seems alien and unrecognisable. Im not sure how we got here. It’s always been a hidden truth that you may be punished if your opinions are too loud or unpopular. But now it’s there to see. And that scares the shit out of me. My thoughts are with the students at JNU you are so much braver than I could ever be. 🖤

This is not the first time Bollywood celebs are linked with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Many renowned Bollywood celebrities like Dilip Kumar, Shatrughan Sinha and Amitabh Bachchan were seen standing next to underworld don Karim Lala.
