Rishab Shetty who recently won the National Award for Best Actor for Kantara is getting slammed on social media. Rishab in an interview, called out Bollywood for portraying India in a bad light, and seems like Reddit does not agree with him.

In an interview with MetroSaga, Times of India quotes Rishabh speaking in Kannada. He said, "Indian films, particularly Bollywood, often portray India negatively. These so-called art films get showcased at international events and receive special attention. For me, my nation, my state, and my language are sources of pride. I believe in presenting them in a positive light to the world, and that's exactly what I strive to do."

Taking to Reddit, a user posted a video clip from Kantara where Rishabh's character can be seen pinching the waist of the actress. The caption read, "RISHABH SHETTY - Indian films, especially Bollywood shows india in bad light !" pointing out the irony.

Several people in the comments pointed out the hypocrisy of Rishabh and Indian films objectifying women. One person wrote, "Also another scene where he was peaking when she is bathing. It was really uncomfortable to watch, no doubt movie was great but sexual harassment is too normalised in indian cinema."

Another person wrote, "There's a scene where they compare a woman's face to an animal's face, I think a Buffalo's, and it was so uncomfortable to watch. Like that person lived their whole life with that face and will continue to do so, and you're ridiculing the way they look for the sake of a cheap joke. Imagine how she must've felt."

One user wrote, "Most overrated movie in recent times. The only reason it was a huge hit is because it was released at time when ‘bashing Bollywood for no reason’ was cool for many and every random South movie was performing well."
