Rajkummar Rao revealed getting cheated on by scammers for Rs 10,000 for a fake photoshoot during the early days of his acting struggles.
Rajkummar Rao has solidified his place in the industry as a very satisfied and talented actor. He is known for his powerful performances in several hits, such as Srikanth and Bariely ki Barfi. The actor is currently busy with the promotion of his newly released sports drama film, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi.
Rao was recently on the comedy talk show The Great Indian Kapil Show, where he opened up about his early days and struggles. He recalled a traumatic incident of getting scammed out of Rs 10,000 for a fake photoshoot, which his mother borrowed for him.
Talking about the incident Rajkummar said, "It was a filmy scene. I used to cycle from Gurgaon to Delhi. I had read a newspaper clipping about a show being made for Zee TV. I didn’t know the difference between TV and films; I just wanted to act. I called them and they invited me for a meeting. I rode my bicycle all the way to South Extension"
"It was a typical office, and the man there had photos with everyone, from Gulshan Grover to Raza Murad. I thought he knew everyone. He said the photoshoot would cost me Rs 10,000. My mother borrowed the money, and somehow we paid him the amount. Then I received a call saying I had been selected for the role. I was on my knees, thinking I had made it in life and was all set. Since I was a fan of Shah Rukh Khan and followed his footsteps from television to cinema, I thought my life was also set. But when I went back after three days, the whole office disappeared. The office was locked. I asked people around, and they told me those guys had run away," he added.
Rajkummar did not let these setbacks hold him back from his passion for acting, and his dedication and perseverance have made him one of the finest actors in India.
