From being the most hated one to becoming the most loved in season 3, his character in the show has been through several changes.

Several actors in the Indian film industry have had their journey filled with struggles and odd jobs before making it on the screen. One such actor is now a known face, thanks to Amazon Prime's superhit series Panchayat. He is a talented actor with a wide range, who has been through his share of struggles before landing roles.

If you need a hint, his iconic line 'Gajjab Bezzati Hai Yaar'! was one of the most popular moments that came out of the first season of Panchayat. Yes, we are talking about Aasif Khan, who played the role of Ganesh, more popularly known as the 'groom of Phulera'.

From being the most hated one to becoming the most loved in season 3, his character in the show has been through several changes. However, do you know about the early jobs he did to survive before becoming an actor?

Aasif Khan worked in the kitchen at Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan's reception

After the unfortunate passing of his father, Aasif picked up small jobs around the town to survive and support his family. In 2010, Asif finally mustered up the courage to convince his mother to let him go to Mumbai and pursue acting. In a previous interview with Hindustan Times, Aasif talked about his work and said, "To sustain myself, I started working as a waiter at a hotel. After a few months, when I was working in the kitchen department, we had a party, which was Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s reception.”

Aasif later quit the job and worked in a mall for a while before joining a theater group in Jaipur. He gave auditions and started working as a casting assistant before landing small roles in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Pari, and India's Most Wanted.

His big break came with his role in Jamtara in 2020. After that, he became part of several hit series, such as Mirzapur and Pataal Lok. His upcoming projects include Section 108, Ishq Chakallas, and The Virgin Tree.
