"Punjabi aa gaye": New Jersey Governor thanks Diljit Dosanjh for sold out show in Newark

Diljit Dosanjh has recently taken the stage by storm at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and received praise from New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. Murphy called it a "big moment for the Punjabi community."

Indian singer and actor Diljjit Dosanjh recently had a sold-out show at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, as part of his 'Dil-Luminati' tour in the US. The artist not only won the hearts of the audience but also received praise from New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, who called it a 'big moment for the Punjabi community'. 

Posting a video of Diljit's Newark show, Phil wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Thank you, @diljitdosanjh, for bringing your tour to New Jersey with a sold-out show at @PruCenter last night. Diljit’s success in the U.S. is a big moment for the Punjabi community, including thousands of New Jerseyans who grew up dancing to his music. Punjabi aa gaye!"

He concluded the post with "Punjabi aa gaye" which was famously said by Diljit Dosanjh during his Coachella performance earlier. Diljit replied to Murphy's post with a folded hands emoji expressing his appreciation. 

Currently, Diljit is busy with his international Dil-Luminati tour. Talking about his acting, he recently played the lead in Imtiaz Ali's Amar Singh Chamkila, co-starring Parineeti Chopra. The film was released on Netflix on April 12, 2024, and since then has been receiving love from fans and critics all over the world.
