Shushila Likmabam is an Indian Judo player. She participated in the 2014 Commonwealth Games and won a silver medal for the country. In the year 2019, Shushila won a gold medal at the South Asian Games in 48 kg category.

Shushila Likmabam is an Indian Judo player. Her full name is Shushila Devi Likmabam. She was born on 1 February 1995 in Imphal, Manipur. Her zodiac sign is Aquarius. Her father’s name is Likmabam Manihar Singh and her mother’s name is Likmabam Chaubi Devi. She has an elder brother and two younger siblings. 

Shushila’s coach is Jeevan Sharma. 

Interesting facts about Shushila
 
At the age of 7, Shushila started her training at Judo Academy. She used to train with her elder brother Shilakshi Singh. They would wake up early in the morning to practice judo. Both of them used to travel 25-30 minutes to reach the Judo Academy on a bicycle.

Shushila started her judo practice under the guidance of her uncle Likmabam Dinit, an international judo player, and started participating in state and national level championships.

In the year 2010, Shushila enrolled at Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports, Patiala to improve her judo skills. She trained under the guidance of coach Jeevan Sharma from 2010 to 2017.

Shushila's first win in the international games

She participated in the 2014 Commonwealth Games and won a silver medal for the country.

In 2017, Shushila joined Manipur Police. 

In 2019, Shushila won the silver medal in the Asian Open in Hong Kong.

Shushila Likmabam had to withdraw from the qualifying round for the 2018 Asian Games after she pulled a hamstring before the trials began. Due to this, one of her sponsors broke ties with her, which affected her financial condition. To reduce the financial burden, Shushila had to take a loan by selling her car. 

Winning gold for the country

In the year 2019, Shushila won a gold medal at the South Asian Games in 48 kg category.

She qualified on the basis of continental quota, making her India's sole representative in 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Shushila won a silver in 48 kg category at the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham.
