Ashutosh Rana is a Bollywood actor and television host. In 1996, he starred in his first Bollywood film ‘Sanshodhan’. Ashutosh Rana is popular for his role as ‘Lajja Shankar Pandey’ from the film ‘Sangharsh’. This movie established him as a talented Bollywood star.

Ashutosh Rana is a Bollywood actor and television host. He was born on 10 November 1967 in Gadarvada, Madhya Pradesh. His sun sign is Scorpio. He completed his schooling from District High School, Gadarvada. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Dr Hari Singh Gaur University, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. 

His father’s name is Ramnarayan Neekhra. He has a sister, Kamini Gupta. 

He is married to Renuka Shahane. They are parents of two sons, Shauryaman Rana and Satyendra Rana.

Interesting facts about Ashutosh Rana

As a kid, Ashutosh Rana used to participate in Ramlila programmes and often played the role of ‘Ravana’.

He has done theatre performances in ‘Prithvi Theatre’ with his mentor Satyadev Dubey. 

In the year 1995, he started his acting career with the famous TV serial ‘Swabhiman’. Post the success of the show, he received offers of hosting television shows like ‘Baaji Kiski’ and ‘Sarkar Ki Duniya’.

In an interview, he once shared that his grandfather asked him to do a project with Mahesh Bhatt with a title starting with ‘s’.

In 1999, he received the Screen Weekly Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role, Zee Cine Award for Best Villain, Filmfare Best Villain Award, and Sansui Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role for the film ‘Dushman’.

In 2000, he was awarded Zee Cine Award as Best Villain and Filmfare Best Villain Award for the film ‘Sangharsh’.

Ashutosh has worked in many languages, such as, Hindi, Telugu, Marathi and Tamil.

After doing the 2005 film ‘Shabnam Mausi’ he gained immense popularity as an actor and performer.  

He has played the role of ‘Thakral’ in the popular television program ‘Kaali Ek Agnipariksha’.

In the year 2012, he received the South Indian International Film Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role.

He played the role of Alia Bhatt 's father in the film ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. It was produced by Karan Johar.

Ashutosh Rana has authored two books namely, ‘Ramrajya’ and ‘Maun Muskaan Ki Maar’.

In 2023, Ashutosh Rana starred in the blockbuster hit ‘Pathaan’. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone were the lead actors of the film. 

His upcoming film is Maneesh Sharma’s action thriller ‘Tiger 3’. His co-actors are Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Emraan Hashmi and Riddhi Dogra. The film will be released in the cinemas on 10 November 2023.
