Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming project, a cinematic adaptation of the revered Hindu epic Ramayana, has been a subject of fervent anticipation in Bollywood circles. Amidst speculations about the cast, one of the key roles, that of Kaikeyi, reportedly sees Lara Dutta stepping into the character.

In a recent interview with Indian Express, Lara Dutta addressed the swirling rumors surrounding her portrayal of Kaikeyi in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. With a hint of humor, Lara remarked on the pervasive nature of these rumors, expressing her amusement and stating her enjoyment in reading and hearing about them. 'Who wouldn’t want to be a part of Ramayana?' she quipped, keeping the speculation alive.

Furthermore, Lara playfully mentioned other characters she finds intriguing, jesting that she would even take on roles like Surpanakha and Mandodari if offered. Her light-hearted response adds to the anticipation surrounding the film's casting choices.

In this much-awaited retelling of Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor essays the iconic role of Lord Ram, with Sai Pallavi portraying Sita Ma. Adding to the ensemble, Yash is set to embody the complex character of the ten-headed Ravana, while Sunny Deol is reportedly cast as Lord Hanuman. Lara Dutta's portrayal of Kaikeyi promises to bring depth to the narrative, with discussions ongoing with Vijay Sethupathi for the role of Vibhishana, adding to the excitement.

Reports indicate that filming has already commenced, with Ranbir Kapoor spotted in the attire of Lord Ram, confirming the project's progression. The shooting schedule spans Mumbai and London, with significant portions of the narrative set to unfold in both locations. Notably, the depiction of Lanka will be filmed in London, with Yash joining Ranbir Kapoor for this leg of the shoot.
