In the past five years, there has been a consistent rise in the number of candidates from Rajasthan successfully clearing the UPSC exam. Purvi Nanda, a resident of Udaipur, currently serves as an Assistant Commissioner in the Income Tax Department. She secured the 244th rank in UPSC without any coaching.

Purvi completed her LLB from the National Law University in 2019. She had not considered a career in civil services until her father, Pitambar, expressed his desire to see her excelling at life. He said that he wanted to see her become an IAS officer. This was enough to motivate Purvi to pursue the goal.

Driven by her father’s dream, Purvi embarked on her UPSC journey and dedicated 10 to 11 hours daily to her studies. What’s remarkable is the fact that she managed to clear the exams in her very first attempt and that, too, without receiving any coaching. Presently, she is working as an Assistant Commissioner.

Purvi is still committed to her goal of becoming an IAS officer. She has faith in herself that she will achieve the goal and make her father feel proud in the future. Apart from excelling in academics, she is also an accomplished writer.

Poorvi has authored a book titled ‘Behind the Scenes: The Untold Story of UPSC Aspirants,’ in which she talks about the challenges faced by UPSC aspirants.
